Hershey finished its three-game Canadian road swing with a 4-2 win over the Laval Rocket on Saturday night, when Brian Pinho broke a 2-2 tie in the third period with his first goal of the season. Liam O’Brien iced the game with an empty-net goal at 19:55 to secure the victory.

For the third straight time, the Bears yielded the game’s first goal in the opening period, before battling back to have a 2-1-0-0 record in those games.

Ryan Poehling accounted for Laval’s lead at 11:34 on the power play, for the only tally in the first period for either side.

Connor Hobbs blasted his first goal of the season past Rocket goaltender Charlie Lindgren at 8:39 in the second period to make it a 1-1 contest.

Laval countered to regain the lead at 12:33 when Nikita Jevpalovs lifted a backhander over goalie Vitek Vanecek. Then the Bears battled back to erase their second, one-goal deficit when Joe Snively fired a wrist shot past Lindgren, to tie the score at 16:35.

In the third stanza, Hershey continued to dictate the five-on-five play that resulted in Axel Jonsson-Fjallby finding Pinho, who beat Lindgren top shelf at 3:44. O’Brien’s empty-net tally closed it out with five ticks left on the clock.

Hershey finished the night 0-for-3 on the power play and 3-for-4 on the penalty kill and edged the Rocket in shots, 27-25.

The Bears have won three of their first four road games in 2019-20 away from Giant Center and will wrap up the four-game road trip on Wednesday, Oct. 23 against the Rochester Americans.
