In Sunday’s follow up tilt with the Monsters, Bears’ goaltender Zach Fucale blocked all 29 shots he faced in Hershey’s 3-0 victory to assure a first-round bye for the upcoming Calder Cup playoffs.

Joe Snively scored twice to lead the Hershey Bears (40-16-5-4) to a 4-1 victory over the Cleveland Monsters (29-28-5-2) in Saturday’s contest at Rocket Mortgage Field House. Snively scored during a five-on-three man advantage to put Hershey up 1-0 at 5:59 in the first period, notching his eighth goal of the season, with assists gong to Mike Sgarbossa and Mike Vecchione.

Aaron Ness started a breakout from the defensive zone that led to a two-on-one rush with Vecchione that ended with Ness’ fourth of the season, at 11:52.

Hershey increased its lead in the second period on another odd-man rush that resulted in Riley Sutter scoring his fifth goal of the season, at 14:05, from Shane Gersich and Mason Morelli.

Snively collected his second of the night at 3:32 of the third period from Connor McMichael and Bobby Nardella to give the Bears a 4-1 lead. McMichael’s assist extended his season-high point streak to nine games (3g, 6a).

The Monsters spoiled Hunter Shepard’s shutout bid at 14:50 on a goal by Tyler Angle.
