A sport is only as good as its players. Lebanon County is one of the top field hockey spots in the state of Pennsylvania.
Recently, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association recognized seven Lebanon County student-athletes as all-state performers. That list featured Palmyra senior Lauren Wadas, who was also named an All-American by the NFHCA.
Wadas, a forward-midfielder, was one of 16 players from across the country to receive All-American status. Wadas, who’s headed to Northwestern on a Division One scholarship, led the Cougars to a second straight appearance in the PIAA Class AA championship game in November.
Wadas concluded her career second among the Cougars’ all-time leading scorers.
Wadas was joined on the all-Pennsylvania first time by Palmyra teammates Mia Julien, Livvy Shoemaker and Alexa Derr. Earning second-team all-state recognition were Palmyra’s Anna Miller and Northern Lebanon’s Lindsay McFeaters.
Maddie Hudson of Palmyra received an all-state honorable mention.
