They’re Stoking Up the Baseball Hot Stove in Reading Again

BY JEFF FALK

On a cold January day, there’s nothing like sitting around a hot stove and talking about America’s number-one summer sport.

That cold day will be January 15, when the 54th edition of the annual Reading Hot Stovers’ Banquet will be conducted at the Riveredge Inn & Conference Center, Route 183 in Reading. The cost of the evening, which begins with a 5:15-6:15 p.m. cocktail hour, continues with a 6:45 p.m. dinner and features three notable speakers, is $55 per person.

Scheduled to appear will be former Phillies’ pitcher and current Comcast baseball analyst Ricky Bottalico, former New York Yankees second baseman Bobby Richardson and former Pittsburgh pitcher and current Pirate broadcaster Steve Blass.
