Jared Odrick is 6-5 and 305 pounds. But he’s even bigger in Lebanon,
Odrick’s reach, influence and stature in his hometown continue to grow. Now they went and named a golf tournament after him.
The second annual Jared Odrick Invitational Golf Classic will be staged at Royal Oaks Golf Course during the morning hours of June 15. Proceeds from the event will go to Operation Give-Back, which provides support to military personnel, police officers and first-responders.
Odrick, a graduate of Lebanon High School and a member of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins, is expected to attend the event, along with several of his NFL collegaues and teammates. That evening, the annual Big 33 senior high-school all-star game will be conducted in Hershey.
Cost of the four-man scramble outing is $125 per player, which includes cart and entry into numerous contests, including long drives, closest-to-the-pins and holes-in-one. Sponorships are also available.
The event will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. and will include a 1 p.m. dinner, as well as prizes and a raffle.
Last year, a total of $43,000 was raised for the cause.
