Land of Loss Unfamiliar Territory for LVC Women

BY JEFF FALK
This just in…
…The Lebanon Valley College women’s basketball team has lost a game.
On Thursday, the Flying Dutchmen endured their initial loss of the season, a 75-65 setback at Richard Stockton in Pomona, New Jersey. Prior to the setback, Lebanon Valley College had won 37 of its last 40 games and had suffered its last loss in last season’s NCAA Division Three tournament.
On this particular evening, the Flying Dutchmen experienced difficulties containing the Ospreys. Rchard Stockton converted on 47 percent of its field goals and knocked down seven three-point field goals, while LVC shot 32 percent from the floor and made just one trey.
With the loss, Lebanon Valley, currently ranked eighth nationally, slipped to 9-1 on the year. Richard Stockton improved to 8-1.
After trailing by as many as 16 points, Lebanon Valley used a late 11-2 run to pull within 65-62 with 1:21 to go. But that was as close as the Flying Dutchmen would come.
Lebanon Valley trailed 40-36 at the break.
Caitlin Bach paced the Flying Dutchmen attack with 16 points, while freshman teammate Kiely Chaklos collected 15 points.
