Local Ice Hockey Club is Knights in Shining Armor

BY JEFF FALK

It was more than just validation for the Black Knights. It showed that there are even better days ahead.

The Black Knights, an amateur youth hockey club headquartered in Palmyra, recently backed up a solid regular-season showing in the Delaware Valley Hockey League, with a splendid performance in the circuit’s playoffs, at Iceline in West Chester. Of the Black Knights’ seven travel teams, six qualified for the DVHL postseason, and all six enjoyed success.

Showing the way for the Black Knights were their PeeWee A and Squirt B teams, which validated DVHL regular-season titles with first-place playoff finishes. The Black Knights’ PeeWee B squad garnered playoff gold, after finishing second during the regular year.

Meanwhile, the Black Knights’ Bantam B team captured the postseason crown on the heels of a third-place finish in the DVHL. And the Bantam A outfit was second during the regular season and second in the playoffs.

The Black Knights’ Squirt A team was the runner-up during the postseason, as well as during the regular season.

Many of the Black Knight teams also qualified for the district playoffs, which will be contested March 14-16 at Mennan Ice Arena in Morristown, New Jersey.
