You’ve got a love a man with a plan. And you’ve got to love a plan when it comes to fruition.

Khalique Washington was a man with a plan.

Washington, a 2017 graduate of Lebanon High School, recently committed to play football for Division One Southern Mississippi. The former Cedar spent the last two seasons playing at Dodge City Community College in Kansas.

Southern Mississippi competes in the West Division of Conference USA, and the Golden Eagles went 6-5 during the 2018 campaign. Washington chose to accept an athletic grant-in-aid from Southern Mississippi after receiving similar offers from the University of Central Florida and others.

While at Lebanon High, the 6-5, 320-pound Washington earned the distinction of playing in the Big 33 Classic, following his senior season as a Cedar. Washington also successfully competed in basketball and track and field for the Cedars.
