Hartford goals in the final minute of the second period and 22 seconds into the third were just enough to give the Wolf Pack a 2-1 victory over Hershey Friday night. The Bears had won six straight games in Hartford, dating back to March 31, 2017.
After a scoreless first period, Mike Sgarbossa opened the scoring for the Bears at 7:22. for his team-leading sixth goal of the season. Christian Djoos sent a shot toward the goal that Sgarbossa redirected in front of Hartford goaltender Igor Shesterkin.
In the final minute of the period, the Wolf Pack pulled even when Steven Fogarty buried a backdoor feed from Joey Keane past Vitek Vanecek.
Just 22 seconds into the third period, Darren Raddysh scored the eventual game-winning goal for the Pack. Despite pulling Vanecek late in favor of the extra attacker the Bears were unable to draw even before time expired.
Final shots on goal were 25-23 Hartford. Bears special teams finished the night 0-for-1 on the power play and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.
The Bears return to action Saturday at Lehigh Valley, then host the Phantoms at Giant Center Sunday at 5 p.m.
