 BY JEFF FALK

It is the perfect way to top off an outstanding scholastic sports career. And one would be hard pressed to find two more deserving recipients than Ryelle Shuey and Logan Horn.

It was recently announced that multiple-sport student-athletes Horn and Shuey are the 2019 recipients of the Central Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame’s prestigious Pop Kelchner award for excellence in high school athletics. Shuey and Horn will be presented with their awards at the local hall of fame’s 49th annual induction ceremonies at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, November 11 at the Rodeway/Clarion Hotel in Lebanon.

Horn earned 12 varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball during his four-year career as a Cedar Crest Falcon. He will be playing football at Division Two Indiana University of Pennsylvania in the fall.

Shuey was an outstanding soccer player at Elco, but also excelled in basketball and track and field for the Raiders. She will be competing in Division One soccer at Lehigh this fall.

During the ceremony, the Central Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame will also induct seven new adult members – former Lebanon High and Lebanon Valley standout Adam Brossman, local stock-car racing great Bobby Gerhart, Cocalico head football coach Dave Gingrich, one-time Palmyra baseball star Justin Hileman, former Lebanon Valley College softball coach and assistant athletic director Stacy Hollinger, Lebanon County’s all-time leading basketball scorer Becky Hower-Kleinfelter and former Miami Dolphin and Jacksonville Jaguar defensive lineman Jared Odrick.

The event is open the public and tickets can be obtained for $25 by contacting Carol Frankhouser at 717-813-3446 or carolfranhouser@hotmail.com.
