Gerhart’s Off-Track Limitations Hinder Him on The Triangle

He has never come right out and said it. But Bobby Gerhart has intimated it on a number of ocassions.

Given the current economic climate and the place he’s currently at in his career, it would be very difficult – almost impossible – for Gerhart to win at both Pocono and Datytona in the same calendar year.

On Saturday, August, 6, Gerhart ran a disappointing 18th in the Pennsylvania ARCA 125 at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond.  Gerhart, who won a record seventh ARCA Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 on February 12th at Daytona International Speedway in Florida, was hindered by a 21st starting position and a relatively short 50-lap race.

Gone Racin'The event was won by Ty Dillon, who notched his seventh ARCA victory of the season. The start of the Pennsylvania ARCA 125 was postponed from Saturday to Sunday by rain.

After competing in eight of ARCA’s 13 races to date, Gerhart currently resides in the 15th position in the stock-car racing series.

Another Lebanon driver, Kyle Martel also competed in the Pennsylvania ARCA 125, but was relegated to 36th finishing position by a first-lap accident. Martel had started the race 20th.
