As senior teammates, Colton Ryan and Ryan Daub formed a formidable one-two punch out of the Northern Lebanon football team’s backfield. Next year, they’ll be rivals.
Recently, Ryan and Daub announced they will be continuing their football careers, and exactly where that will be doing it. Daub has chosen to matriculate to Lebanon Valley College, while Ryan will study and play football at the Flying Dutchmen’s arch-nemesis Albright.
Interestingly enough, neither is expected to do too much toting of the ball on the NCAA Division Three level. Daub was recruited as a defensive back and Ryan was being touted as a linebacker.
Along with senior signal-caller Tanner Dresch, Daub and Ryan saw a majority of the carries for the Viking offense this fall. Daub carried 61 times for 494 yards and eight touchdowns, while Ryan handled it 136 times for 775 yards and seven scores.
During their careers in Fredericksburg, Daub, who was also a 100-plus-win wrestler, and Ryan were honored with numerous Lancaster-Lebanon League and all-Lebanon County recognitions. Last year, they led Northern Lebanon to a 5-5 overall mark and a 4-2 record in Section Three of the L-L.
