Cedar Crest Girls’ Volleyball Team To Salute The Troops

BY JEFF FALK

Some local scholastic sports teams are more involved in the community than others. One could certainly say that the Cedar Crest girls’ volleyball team cares.

The philanthropic Falcons are at it again. This time, CC’s lady spikers will host a ‘Military Night’ on Wednesday, Sept. 5 in the gym at Cedar Crest High School, during the Falcons’ home tilt with rival Lebanon.

All members of the military, past and present, along with first responders like police officers, firemen, fire police, EMTs, ambulance workers and paramedics will be admitted free of charge, and then honored. In addition, a free all-you-can-eat spaghetti supper will be served to our local heroes from 5 to 6 p.m. in the gymnasium lobby.

All attending military personnel and first responders will be recognized at 6:45 p.m., between the JV and varsity matches. Military vehicles will be on display in the parking lot outside the gym, while a rock wall be made available for climbing.
